Cannabistherapie*

(*-not an official designation of the Rhineland-Palatinate Medical Association)

Cannabis therapy is finally possible again in Germany. It's a wonderful plant with enormous, untapped potential, and it has been used medicinally for over 60 years. It wasn't until the 1960s, in the 20th century, that it was branded a "devil's weed" for economic reasons. My goal is to give people with chronic pain a herbal alternative to pharmaceutical medicine and to alleviate their suffering.

Challenge

Cannabis therapy alone is rarely effective against very severe pain. However, in combination with other medications, certain synergies can be achieved, thus improving the patients' quality of life. Of course, there are also conditions for which cannabis therapy alone can be effective. It is always important that the doctor accompanies you throughout the entire therapy so that the appropriate strain and dosage can be determined for your needs. This is not only important with flowers. Currently, it is even possible to produce drops from cannabis plants, for example. Thus, as an alternative to flowers, there are also drops and tablets made from synthetic cannabis, as well as full-spectrum drops with terpenes directly from the plant. In some cases, these are even more effective than artificially synthesized THC. Adjusting your approach to cannabis is a very individual matter that requires a lot of patience, and close cooperation between the doctor and patient is always necessary.
