Labor
Slogan or short description
In cooperation with the MVZ laboratory in Koblenz, all necessary samples, such as blood, are taken in my practice and sent by us to the laboratory.
COVID-19
There are 3 different COVID tests:
The gold standard is PCR
test, which is performed via throat and nasal swabs. This test only indicates whether an acute infection is present and is often required for travel.
Antibody tests
are performed through blood tests at the Koblenz laboratory. These determine IgA and IgG levels and indicate the current infection level as well as the physical condition after an infection (immunity).
antibody
Rapid tests
They indicate IgM and IgG levels—that is, the acute and chronic antibodies. The current recommendation from the RKI on its own website states that antibody tests are not considered conclusive.

Antigen test - Antigen (AG) tests can, however, represent a useful addition to (PCR) testing capacities when meeting requirements where, in the acute phase of infection, a first (preliminary) decision on the possible presence of a transmission-relevant infection in a person needs to be made quickly (on-site, POCT) (WHO, 2020a).
We therefore recommend taking an antigen test first to avoid unnecessary strain on laboratories in difficult times like these.Antigen tests are completed in 15 minutes. During these 15 minutes, I'll be happy to advise you on coronavirus.
